About West Bengal Centralised Admission Portal 2024

For admission to undergraduate programmes at state government institutions and universities, the West Bengal government on Wednesday unveiled a centralised admission portal. The admission site was launched at the Bikash Bhavan in Kolkata by state education minister Bratya Basu. Admission to 7,217 undergraduate courses at government and government-aided general degree colleges and universities (16 universities, 461 colleges, and a few additional higher education institutions throughout West Bengal) is made possible through the portal.

Any candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary or equivalent exam (from an accredited board or council) may register on the portal, although there are limitations imposed by the individual universities regarding the passing year.

What year should a 10+2 student have passed in order to be eligible to enrol for a course or courses through the Centralised Admission Portal?

For a given course in the portal, the passing year or years are provided for each college or institution.

Does a candidate who has applied through the Centralised Admission Portal still need to apply independently to each college?

No. The candidate only needs to submit one application through the Undergraduate Centralised Admission Portal. After the online provisional admissions procedure is finished and the candidate receives a call for in-person verification at the designated institution, the candidate must report to the college.

What occurs if two candidates with the same merit index are tied?

In the event that two candidates with identical merit indexes are tied for a seat in a specific programme (category-wise), the college’s or HEI’s tie-breaking policy will be applied.
