Amma Two-Wheeler Scheme for Working Women

The Tamil Nadu government runs the Amma Two Wheeler Scheme. It’s a programme designed for Tamil Nadu’s working women. The Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihood Mission oversees the programme. The primary aim of this programme is to empower employed women to purchase two-wheelers for their own use. A two-wheeler purchase assistance of Rs. 25,000/-or 50% of the vehicle’s cost, whichever is less will be provided to the qualified recipient. The beneficiary is free to purchase any car she wants, as long as it is a two-wheeler with an engine capacity of no more than 125 cc and is gearless or auto-geared. It is also necessary to have a valid licence or learner licence in order to take advantage of the programme.

Makkaludan Muthalvar Scheme

Eligibility Criteria

  • The women must be Tamil Nadu state resident
  • The applicant’s age must be between 18 to 40 years
  • The applicant must know driving
  • The candidate must have a valid Two Wheeler License/Learner License
  • The annual income must not exceed Rs. 2, 50,000/-.
  • In a family, only the single woman recipient is qualified to receive the benefit.

Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Education Assurance Scheme

The Department of Social Welfare and Women Empowerment of the Government of Tamil Nadu oversees the Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Education Assurance Scheme. This support will continue till the girl finishes her degree programme. However, under this initiative, only girls who have completed their education from Class 6 to Class 12 in Tamil Nadu Government Schools are eligible for financial aid.

  • Girls who graduated from Tamil Nadu Government School in grades six through twelve.
  • Females enrolled in any undergraduate program.
  • Applying girls who have completed classes 9 to 12 at Tamil Nadu Government School and classes 6 to 8 at private schools under the Right to Education Act (RTE) are also welcome.

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu introduced the Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme. Non-graduates were given Rs. 25,000 in financial support under this plan. While Graduate was given a Rs. 50,000 financial boost.
