The Chief Minister’s Thayumanavar Scheme was announced by Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu on 19th of February 2024 as a way to reduce poverty in the state for the coming two years. This scheme has been given a budget of Rs 27,922 cr. Over the following two years, it seeks to raise approximately five lakh of the poorest households out of poverty.
