National Overseas Scholarship 2024-25

A flagship initiative of the Indian government’s Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the National Overseas Scholarship (NOS) Scheme seeks to provide students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Denotified Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT/SNT), Landless Agricultural Labourers (LAL), and Traditional Artisans (TA) with easier access to high-quality higher education overseas. Selected individuals can get financial aid through this system to pursue master’s or doctoral studies at recognised foreign universities or institutions in any field of study. Tuition, a living allowance, a contingency grant, and an allowance for books and study materials including travel expenses—are all covered by the scholarship.

Through access to top-notch higher education at internationally recognised universities, the programme seeks to improve the knowledge and skills of SC students so they may more effectively contribute to the development of their country.

  • Qualification Exam Marks: Should there be a tie between two or more candidates’ QS rankings, their placement in the merit list will be determined by the marks or grades they received in the qualifying examination (Bachelor’s degree for Masters, Master’s degree for Ph.D.) for the post-secondary education for which they have applied for the scholarship.
