In the following two fiscal years, a total of 10 lakh houses are to be built. The government would distribute the first tranche of Rs 375 crore to 2 lakh 50 thousand beneficiaries out of the 3 lakh Gharkul beneficiaries in 2023–2024. Through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Grameen, funded by the central government, and different state-sponsored rural housing projects, 17,00,728 houses have been constructed in the state, and work on 7,03,497 houses is currently underway. Under the “Maha Awas Abhiyan 2023-24,” which is being undertaken to bring speed and quality to the work of all rural housing schemes in the state, 7 lakh homes will be completed to fulfill the aim of “Housing for All.”

Objectives of Modi Awas Gharkul Scheme 2024

  • Within the next three years, 10 lakh members of Other Backward Classes, Special Backward Classes, Freed Castes, and Nomadic Tribes will receive the benefit of Gharkul under the Modi Awas Gharkul Yojana.

  • To be eligible for the yojana, applicants need to belong to any one of the following categories.
  • Other Backward Classes
  • Special Backward Classes
  • Freed Castes and
  • Nomadic Tribes.
  • People belonging to open category will not be able to enjoy the benefits if this yojana.

Implementation of Modi Awas Gharkul Scheme 2024

Seven lakh homes will be finished as part of the “Maha Awas Abhiyan 2023-24,” which is being implemented to improve the efficiency and caliber of all rural housing projects in the state to meet the aim of ‘Housing for All’. The first tranche of Rs 375 crore would be handed by the Prime Minister to 2 lakh 50 thousand beneficiaries out of the 3 lakh Gharkul recipients in 2023–2024.

With the help of many state-sponsored rural housing programs and the central government’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Grameen, 17,00,728 houses have been built in the state, and work on 7,03,497 more is currently underway.
