The All India Council for Technical Education launched the AICTE AURA (Augmenting Utilisation of Research Assets 2024) program, which provided financial assistance to instructors and students at AICTE-accredited institutions to encourage the use of I-STEM (India Science Technology Engineering Facilities Map). The goal of this project is to improve research efforts and make I-STEM resources more accessible. The AICTE AURA Scheme provides financial assistance to full-time or regular teachers at AICTE-approved schools, as well as students obtaining PG scholarships, ADF fellowships, and QIP scheme participants. Eligibility Criteria for AICTE AURA Scheme

The applicants applying for the scheme must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • To make use of the scheme’s benefits, there will be no upper age limit.
  • AICTE AURA enrollment is open to full-time or regular faculty members of AICTE-approved schools as well as students enrolled in AICTE’s PG Scholarship, ADF, and QIP schemes.
  • All postgraduate students at AICTE-approved institutions who are not eligible for an AICTE PG scholarship programme may nonetheless benefit from the AICTE AURA programme.
  • A person may only use this program a maximum of twice in their lifetime.

Funding for the AICTE AURA Scheme

Once the payment receipt for the use of equipment and facilities registered on the I-STEM site is submitted, the researcher will be paid up to Rs 2 lakhs to begin a research project. Each researcher is limited to a maximum of Rs 2 lakh in funding.

AICTE AURA Scheme Funds Reimbursement

Within the financial year, which runs from April to September (before October 31) and October to March (before April 30), bills must be turned in on a biannual basis for reimbursement. There will be a maximum of two reimbursements each year. The money will be transferred to the researcher’s bank account online using RTGS or NEFT.
